A short option for those who want to discover the Lençóis Maranhenses at a more relaxed pace, combining a trek across the dunes, swimming in the lagoons and a night of immersion at Oásis Baixa Grande.

It's 12 km of trekking split over two days, with time to enjoy the lagoons, take in the sunset and get to know the daily life of a local family living inside the National Park.

Barreirinhas/Atins → Rio Negro → Oásis Baixa Grande

Oásis Baixa Grande

Departure is from 4:30 AM in Barreirinhas, with pickup at the inns. For participants staying in Atins, departure is from 6:30 AM.

In a 4×4 vehicle, the group travels for about 2 hours toward the National Park, to the area near Rio Negro. Along the way, there will be a stop for a breakfast snack and to watch the sunrise.

The trek begins in the Bandeira/Rio Negro area. It's about 6 km of trekking, over 2 to 3 hours, with stops to swim in the lagoons.

Arrival at Oásis Baixa Grande is expected around 10:30 AM. After lunch and a rest period, the group returns to the dunes to enjoy the lagoons and take in the sunset.

Lunch, dinner and the overnight stay take place at the home of a local family, in hammocks.

Oásis Baixa Grande → Rio Negro → Canto do Atins → Atins

Atins

After breakfast, served at 7 AM, the return trek begins around 8 AM.

The stretch is about 6 km, covered in 2 to 3 hours, with stops to swim in the lagoons and leisure time on the dunes.

Arrival at the Bandeira/Rio Negro area is expected around 10:30/11 AM. From there, a 4×4 vehicle takes the group to Canto do Atins, where lunch is served.

After lunch and a short rest, the group heads by 4×4 to Atins, with arrival at the inns expected around 2 PM.
